The error code CC on your AEG, Electrolux, or Quelle-Privileg dishwasher indicates a fault related to the drying fan system. This system, often called “AirDry” or a similar feature, uses a fan to circulate air within the dishwasher tub to improve drying performance at the end of a cycle. When the main control board does not receive the correct signal from the fan or cannot power it, this error is triggered.
There are two primary components to investigate when this error appears.
Cause 1: The Drying Fan is Defective The fan itself may have failed. This can be due to a seized motor, an electrical fault within the fan’s components, or physical damage that prevents it from spinning. The control module attempts to activate the fan during the drying phase, and if it fails to start or run at the correct speed, the CC error code will be displayed.
Cause 2: The Control Module is Faulty The control module is the electronic “brain” of the dishwasher and is responsible for sending power to all components, including the drying fan. A fault on the circuit board, such as a failed relay or a burnt trace, can prevent it from sending the necessary voltage to operate the fan. In this scenario, the fan itself may be perfectly functional, but it never receives the command to turn on. This control module is typically located on the left side of the appliance, accessible by removing the outer side panel.
For safety and proper diagnosis, it is recommended to disconnect the dishwasher from its power and water supply before attempting any inspection.
Due to the electrical nature of these components, if you are not experienced with appliance repair, we strongly recommend contacting an authorized service technician. They have the specific diagnostic tools to determine whether the fan or the control module is the source of the fault and can safely perform the necessary replacement.
