Because dryers require a perfectly sealed environment to operate safely and efficiently (preventing moisture escape and ensuring heating element safety), the cycle will immediately pause or refuse to start when this error is detected.

Please follow these steps methodically to resolve the door closure error:

1. Verify Door Seating and Latch Engagement:

   • Action: Open the dryer door completely and then firmly close it again. You must hear or feel a distinct “click” indicating that the door latch mechanism has successfully engaged with the strike plate on the dryer body.
   • Explanation: If the door is only resting against the frame without the latch fully catching, the internal sensor will not register a closed status, triggering the E40 error. Ensure no clothing items are caught between the door and the main frame.

2. Inspect the Door and Surroundings for Obstructions:

   • Action: Carefully examine the entire perimeter of the door opening and the door itself.
