Has your AEG, Electrolux, or Quelle-Privileg washing machine displayed error code E32? This critical error code specifically indicates a calibration error with the internal analog water pressure sensor (also known as the pressure switch). This sensor is vital for accurately measuring the water level required for safe and effective washing.
What is happening:
The washing machine’s electronic control unit (ECU) runs a crucial diagnostic check at the beginning of nearly every cycle. This process involves the drain pump activating to clear all residual water, aiming to achieve a “zero level” state within the drum and tub.
For the subsequent calibration to succeed, the analog pressure sensor must report a value corresponding to zero water or pressure. When error E32 appears, it means the sensor is registering a reading that significantly deviates from the expected zero level, suggesting that water is still present in the machine even though the pump has attempted to drain it completely. This prevents the cycle from starting accurately because the machine cannot determine the true water level.
What you can do: Troubleshooting External Drainage Issues
The primary cause of this calibration failure is usually an external blockage preventing complete drainage.
Check the drain hose: Ensure the drain hose is not kinked, crushed, or folded anywhere along its length. These physical obstructions severely restrict water flow, preventing the machine from emptying completely. Furthermore, inspect the connection point where the drain hose enters the standpipe or sink fitting. Verify that the end of the hose is not submerged too deeply in standing water (which can lead to siphoning issues) and that the hose is not positioned too high, which places excessive strain on the pump and impedes the zero-level drainage process. An obstructed drain prevents the machine from achieving the required zero-pressure state.
Check the pump: If the machine struggles to drain, something might be stuck in the drain pump itself. Debris like coins, buttons, lint, or small pieces of clothing can clog the pump impeller, preventing it from running efficiently enough to remove all the water.
Restart the washing machine: This step addresses potential temporary communication glitches or control board errors. Turn off the machine completely, unplug it from the wall socket for five to ten minutes (allowing the control board time to fully reset), and then plug it back in. Restart the chosen wash program to see if the E32 error has cleared.
Contact service: If you have thoroughly checked the drain hose and the drain pump filter/impeller area, and the E32 problem persists after restarting, the issue is internal and requires professional attention. The analog water pressure sensor itself may be faulty, providing incorrect readings, or there may be a failure in the wiring or the electronic control unit (ECU). Contact the customer service of AEG, Electrolux, or Quelle-Privileg. If confirmed as a component failure, the sensor assembly may need to be tested and potentially replaced by a certified technician.
